First Lexus pole in FIA WEC and 2 Mustang in row 2

Finn Gerhsitz clinched first pole for Akkodis ASP Team and the Lexus RC F LMGT3 in FIA WEC ahead of 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps during LMGT3 Hyperpole. Aston Martin Vantage are second and sixth, both Ford Mustang will start from second row being third and fourth and both Ferrari are fifth and seventh.

First Lexus pole in FIA WEC

Finn Gerhsitz was the fastest of today’s LMGT3 Hyperpole with a 2:17.732 aboard the #78 Lexus RC F LMGT3 and will start from pole of LMGT3 tomorrow at 2pm. Gerhsitz is actually the only driver under the 2:18” mark in LMGT3 category.

“My experience is not that high compared to many other drivers here,” acknowledged Gehrsitz, “but preparation was definitely the key and I think the result was down to the perfect combination of car, team and drivers. I didn’t expect this so early, but I’m super-happy to be on pole and to see how we are getting better from race-to-race.” Source: FIA WEC

Aston Martin in first row

Eduardo Barrichello in #10 Racing Spirit of Léman’s Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3, which will duly share the front row with a 2:18.008.

Both Ford Mustang in second row

Both Proton Competition’s Ford Mustang LMGT3 will start from second row as Ben Tuck was third with a 2:18.008 in #77 and Gianmarco Levorato fourth with a 2:18.229 in sister #88. Both Mustangs are within 0.5 second from Gehrsitz’s benchmark.

Ferrari and Aston Martin in third row

After Thomas Flohr qualified the #54 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 in ninth with a 2'19"753, his teammate Francesco Castellacci was fifth of Hyperpole with a 2:18.288. Zacharie Robichon driving the #27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 was sixth with a 2:18.314.
