De Gérus, Roda, Schwarze and Al-Khelaifi score pole

The first ELMS qualifying sessions of the season in sunny Barcelona saw De Gérus, Giorgio Roda, Hugo Schwarze and Abdulla Ali AL-Khelaifi score pole respectively in LMP2, LMP2 Pro Am, LMP3 and LMGT3.

The two Inter Europol Competition Orecas will start from pole and P3 of LMP2

Esteban Masson scored pole in his very last lap for a couple of seconds until Reshad de Gérus did regain pole for 0.189 second with a 1:28.368. De Gérus’ #34 Inter Europol competition Oreca will start from pole and #29 Forestier Racing by Panis’ Oreca will also start from first row tomorrow’s race. Tom Dillmann with #43 Inter Europol Competition driven by Tom Dillmann qualified third and will start from second row of the 4 hours of Barcelona tomorrow.

LMP2 Pro Am

Giorgio Roda in #30 Duqueine Team Oreca was, by far, the fastest of the LMP2 bronze drivers, 0.940 second faster than PJ Hyett in #99 AO by TF Oreca. Roda did set a 1:30.332 to score pole of LMP2 Pro Am category.

Hugo Schwarze gets the only Duqueine D09 - Toyota in pole of LMP3

Hugo Schwarze scored pole for his first ELMS race in LMP3 with #85 R-Ace GP Duqueine D09 - Toyota (the only one in the 10 entries class) by more than half a second ahead of Henry Cubbies Olarte with #13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS P325 - Toyota.

Mercedes-AMG in pole of LMGT3

Abdulla Ali AL-Khelaifi in the #62 Qatar Team by Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 was fastest of the LMGT3 session in his very last lap with a 1:42.289 beating Blake McDonald in #33 TF Sport Corvette Z06 LMGT3 R by 0.063 seconds (long fastest of the session). Both will start from the front row of the LMGT3 class with Al Khelaifi in pole.
