With Toyota, Ferrari and BMW got their Hypercar entries in top 10 for Imola round. Cadillac and Aston Martin scored one Hypercar each in the top 10. Let’s look at P6 to P10 at the 6 Hours of Imola.

Ferrari #50 sixth

The other car of the official Ferrari – AF Corse team, shared by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, finished sixth.

At the green light, the #50 Ferrari 499P, driven by Molina, gained one place off the line to slot in behind the sister car. Later, a drive-through served in the early stages forced that crew into a comeback race, which ended with a valuable finish in the points.

Ferrari scores 27 points towards the world manufacturers’ championship standings thanks to the results of the number 51 and 50 crews, who secured 19 and 8 points respectively in the drivers’ standings.

Antonio Fuoco 499P #50: “We began the season with the Italian race, which allowed us, as Ferrari drivers, to experience something unique: seeing the Imola grandstands so full of Tifosi is something we will hardly forget. Congratulations to our teammates who secured an excellent second place in a race where, with our number 50 499P, it would have been difficult to achieve a better finish.”

Miguel Molina 499P #50: “I thank my teammates Nicklas and Antonio who were protagonists of a fine comeback, recovering many positions after the penalty that had dropped us down the standings, with stints that allowed us in part to make up for the initial mistake. Now we look ahead: fortunately, in three weeks we will be racing again, at Spa, where we will have the opportunity to try to make amends.”

Nicklas Nielsen 499P #50: “We conclude the 6 Hours of Imola with some regret at not having achieved a better result in front of our Tifosi. Sixth place for our number 50 499P is not what we had hoped for in the run-up to this race. We thank the Italian crowd who supported us, as always, in an extraordinary way.” Source: Ferrari

BMW M Team WRT #15 hypercar seventh

Kevin Magnussen and Raffaele Marciello finished seventh in the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, 0.605 second from the #50 Ferrari.

Raffaele Marciello (BMW M Team WRT, #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, 7th place): “It was a long race with two drivers, but we got almost the maximum out of our races with both cars. I think we made a small mistake with tyre choice during my stint; otherwise, fourth place would have been possible. That’s a bit of a shame. With fifth and seventh place, we can still be satisfied, but of course, we want to move further forward. We need to keep working and improve.” Source: BMW

Cadillac #38 eighth

Despite leading the race with car #12, Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA recorded an eighth place finish in the #38 Cadillac V-Series.R.

The #38 Cadillac, started in 13th position with Earl Bamber in the driving seat. Despite also showing encouraging pace, Earl suffered with the traffic, and with overtaking tricky due to the track’s tight and twisty nature, remained in P13. Sebastien Bourdais was able to cross the finish line in P8.

Sebastien Bourdais, #38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R:We knew coming into this race it wasn’t going to be easy, especially starting from the back. The field is so competitive, passing here is extremely difficult, and we saw that throughout the race. Even Earl, who is usually very strong in traffic, was getting trapped behind cars and not able to make much headway.

So for us, the focus was simply on keeping going, executing cleanly and making sure we didn’t make mistakes.  In a fairly straightforward race where nobody really drops off or retires, it’s hard to expect much more than P8 today. The field is so tight, everybody seems to have very similar pace and tyre degradation, so opportunities are limited. That’s why it’s also a huge shame for the sister car, because they looked very strong and were in real contention for a fantastic podium result.

For us, the important thing is that we keep learning with the new aero kit, keep understanding these new tyres, and continue dialling ourselves in. If we can start further up the grid, it looks like we may be able to hold our own and fight for podiums.”

Aston Martin Valkyrie in the points.

#007 Aston Martin THOR Team Valkyrie scored its first points in the 2026 FIA WEC Championship with Harry Tincknell and Tom Gamble ending ninth, one lap behind the winning Toyota. The #007 Valkyrie ran a best lap of 1:32.489 which is just one thousand second short of the winning Toyota best lap during the race.
