No qualifying at Fuji due to dawned wet conditions

As conditions and visibility were deteriorating ahead of qualifying sessions, the qualifying sessions were canceled this Saturday. As a consequence, grid positions are based upon each car’s individual fastest lap from the three free practice sessions. As FP3 fastest laps were 10 second slower than FP2, Alpine, Aston Martin, and Genesis will occupy the first three lines on the grid for tomorrow 6 Hours of Fuji at Fuji Speedway.

Alpine Endurance team locks front row

Victor Martins topped the times during an early qualifying simulation with a 1:29.304 in Alpine Endurance Team’s #36 A424 in Free Practice 2. As the #007 Valkyrie faced a two-place drop penalty, Charles Milesi’s Alpine A424 #35 was upgraded to second, locking the front row for “Les Bleus”.

Genesis and Aston Martin in second and third row

Daniel juncadella in the #19 Genesis GMR-001 will start from second row thanks to the Valkyrie #007 penalty aside of Harry Tincknell in the Aston Martin Valkyrie #007.

André Lotterer in the #17 GMR-001 will start in third row aside Marco Sorensen in Valkyrie #009.

Cadillac and Toyota in fourth row

Earl Bamber will start from fourth row in Cadillac #38 (Aitken was seventh during FP2) aside Sebastien Buemi with Toyota TR010 Hybrid #8 (Ryo Hirakawa’s fastest lap was eighth overall)
