Valkyrie tops FP2 at COTA with 2 Alpines in top 4

15 drivers did improve Antonio Giovinazzi’s FP1 benchmark this afternoon at the Circuit of The Americas. Harry Tincknell scored the fastest lap of the day with Aston Martin Valkyrie ahead of two Alpines A424 and one Genesis. Three Ferrari 499P follow, sister Valkyrie #009, the two BMW M Hybrid V8, Cadillac #38, Toyota #8, Genesis #19 and Peugeot #94 are among those improving FP1 fastest lap.

Valkyrie fastest of Friday practices

Harry Tincknell scored the fastest lap of the day with Aston Martin Valkyrie #007 for Aston Martin THOR Team with a 1:52.567.

Charles Milesi at the wheel of the Alpine Endurance Team's #35 Alpine A424, set the second-fastest time of 1:52.689, 0.122 seconds off the fastest lap.

Genesis GMR 001-Hypercar third

Mathys Jaubert aboard the #17 Genesis Magma Racing Genesis GMR-001-Hypercar reeled a 1:52.811, the third best performance of the day early in the session before focusing on long runs with his teammates.

A bit of a learning curve in the beginning but also good to see the reaction of the team and getting the car back on track. Mathys did put a good lap. We have a good car for the “quali” but we need to improve for the long runs. I went in for a long run to learn a lot and change a few things in the car to see if we can get better.
