Second win in a row for Pfaff Lamborghini Temerario
After Andrea Caldarelli scored the first pole for the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 with the #9 Pfaff Motorsports Lamborghini, together with Sandy Mitchell, he secured the second straight victory in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition at VIRginia International Raceway.

First Lamborghini Temerario GT3 pole
Andrea Caldarelli started from pole to lead the first 23 laps. After a fierce battle with the #77 AO by TF Porsche 911 GT3 R (who led 10 laps), he handed off to Sandy Mitchell in the lead who took the #9 Lamborghini to a 1.517-second win. Both drivers lead 69 of 84 laps in the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR, securing back to back victory in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition after also winning the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America earlier this month.

This new victory enables the tandem to jump into third place in the GTD Pro championship standings, just 56 points out of the lead with two races to go.

Both Ford Racing Mustang GT3s complete the podium
Both Ford Racing Mustang GT3s were represented on Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro podium at Virginia International Raceway, with the #64 Ford Mustang GT3 of Dennis Olsen and Ben Barker second ahead of the sister #65 entry of Frederic Vervisch and Christopher Mies
The #64 team's second-place performance marks its second podium of the season (Watkins Glen International) and its best class finish of the 2026 season.

BEN BARKER, #64 Ford Racing Ford Mustang GT3 – “We knew that we were due a strong result. Despite a bit of bad luck to start the season, we have a tremendous team that works well together and a very competitive Mustang GT3 so it was only a matter of time. It’s a good feeling and the next goal is a win, of course. Thanks to Ford Racing, to Multimatic and to my teammate Dennis [Olsen].”
DENNIS OLSEN, #64 Ford Racing Ford Mustang GT3 – “It was a very good, well-executed race, and it was a perfect drive by Ben [Barker]. We tried everything we could to keep pressure on the leader, and our Mustang GT3 was close. It was a fantastic effort from the whole team.”
Rounding out the podium was the #65 Ford Racing Mustang GT3, driven by Frédéric Vervisch and Christopher Mies, which finished third.
The result gives the #65 team three GTD Pro class podiums in 2026, including a win at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and a third-place finish at Ford Racing's home event in Detroit.

When you start from ninth, you have to take a bit of a risk with strategy in order to work your way forward. Philip Ellis and Russell Ward claimed their third consecutive GTD win with #57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and have taken over the class points lead after a “mano a mano” between Ellis and Tom Gamble in the #27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo (who had a drive-through penaltywith less than five minutes to go).

BMW and Ferrari second and third in GTD
Robby Foley and Patrick Gallaghe with #96 Turner Motorsport BMW finished 6.413 seconds behind the class leaders.
Frederik Schandorff and Brendan Iribe took the third podium seat in their #70 Inception Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo
