Ferrari 499P to Le Mans for a fourth win in a row

After the three consecutive successes achieved by the 499Ps in the most recent editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Prancing Horse returns to France with the two cars fielded by the official Ferrari – AF Corse team: #50, crewed by Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen, and #51, with Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi, while AF Corse, winner last year, lines up the #83 499P entrusted to Ye-Hanson-Kubica.

In recent seasons the Ferrari 499Ps have alternated on the top step of the podium, helping to write indelible pages in the history of the Maranello manufacturer, thanks to the victories of the number 51 and 50 crews, respectively in the Centenary edition contested in 2023 and in 2024, and of the trio at the wheel of the number 83 Ferrari, which triumphed in 2025.

In the Manufacturers’ World Championship standings Ferrari is third on 42 points, 17 behind the leaders. The 24 Hours of Le Mans awards double points compared to a race over the 6-hour distance: first position gives 50 points.

2024 Winners: #50 crewed by Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen

At Imola the #50 499P driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen finished sixth and third at Spa-Francorchamps. In the Drivers’ world championship standings Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen are sixth on 23 points (12 points behind the leader)

Antonio Fuoco #50: “At both Imola and Spa we saw a very closely matched field, with competitors in great form at the start of this championship. Now it is time for Le Mans, the most important race of the year, where it will be essential to optimise the package we have at our disposal to the maximum, while trying to score as many points as possible. As always, we focus on ourselves: we approach the race with determination, knowing that Le Mans is a special challenge where it is essential not to make any mistakes. It will be a very tough race, but we will do our very best until the end and then we will see what the result will be.”

Miguel Molina #50: “During the Test Day we completed the programme we had set ourselves. The six hours of testing were certainly useful. I think the race will be difficult; I expect an even more complex race than in previous years. We will take to the track determined to do everything as well as possible, relying on the experience gained in previous editions contested with the 499P, in which our car, since its debut in 2023, has always proved competitive on this circuit.”

Nicklas Nielsen #50: “I am expecting a very difficult 24 Hours of Le Mans. Our approach will be the same as every year: we face this race wanting to fully express the potential at our disposal, hoping to reach Sunday morning in a position that allows us to fight for a good result. In previous years Ferrari has always shown that it can count on a competitive car at the Circuit de La Sarthe and a strong team that has progressed in terms of experience race after race. We start again from these strengths and then we will see how the race unfolds.”

2023 Winners: #51 crewed by Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi,

In Italy Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi, reigning Drivers’ world champions, claimed pole position with the #51 499P and finished the race in second place but the #51 was forced to retire following contact at Spa-Francorchamps. in the Drivers’ world championship standings Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi are seventh on 19 points.

Alessandro Pier Guidi #51: “We arrive at Le Mans after two races with mixed results: at Imola we had an excellent race, taking pole position and finishing runner-up in the 6 Hours, while at Spa we were unfortunately taken out of contention following contact in what was a difficult weekend for our cars. After starting from the back, we had managed to recover ground during the race and could have aimed for fifth place at the finish. Now it is time for the 24 Hours, the most beautiful and coveted race: in the past the 499P has shown that it adapts very well to this circuit, where we have achieved three historic consecutive victories. This year I think it will be extremely difficult to repeat that result.”

James Calado #51: On Test Day, on Sunday, we began working on the set-up of the 499P, carrying out the work we had planned. The car behaved well in the technical sections and through the corners, as in previous years, while on the long straights we struggled more in terms of speed. As always in testing, every team follows its own programme: to better understand the potential of the others we will have to wait for the first free practice sessions and the qualifying sessions. It is great to be back at Le Mans, where Ferrari has enjoyed great success in recent years.

Antonio Giovinazzi #51: We arrive at Le Mans after three consecutive victories and with a car that, so far, has always proved highly competitive on this circuit. Repeating that this year will be extremely difficult. However, a 24-hour race is so long and complex that it involves many variables, for us and for our rivals, so it must be approached with determination, maintaining a high level of concentration and trying to be consistent, avoiding mistakes and poor decisions. The objective is to arrive in the best possible condition in the final phase of the race and, at that point, continue to give one hundred percent in order to achieve the best result possible. 2025 Winners: #83 crewed by Ye-Hanson-Kubica

Ferrari official drivers Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson, together with Robert Kubica, finished tenth in the #83 car at Imola and sixth at Spa-Francorchamps. In the Drivers’ world championship standings Ye-Hanson-Kubica are 11th, on 9 points.
