All Hypercar manufacturers have at least one driver who was able to set a lap time within one second of Hypercar’s best lap during Le Mans Test Day. Even Paul-Loup Chatin got #19 Genesis GMR 001 Hypercar in the club of the 19 drivers setting their fastest lap within one second of Gamble’s fastest lap of the day!.

Valkyrie, Toyota, two Cadillacs and Alpine in top 5

In our previous article we outlined the top 5 Hypercars of the Test Day at Le Mans in preparation of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans next week-end.

Two Alpine A424 in top 6

With four drivers among the top 10 fastest laps of the Test Day, Le Mans debutant Victor Martins in the Alpine A424 #36 did set the eighth fastest lap of the Test Day which puts the second Alpine in P6 per car.

BMW M V8 Hybrid seventh

Last FIA WEC race winning #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 ends event of the day thanks to Robin Frijns setting a fastest lap of 3:27.139.

Toyota #7 and Ferrari #51 eighth

Kamui Kobayashi’s twelvth fastest lap got the #7 Toyota TR010 Hybrid in eigth place of Hypercars with a best lap of 3:27.127.

Kamui Kobayashi (Team Principal and driver, car #7): “The test went pretty well overall and I’m happy to be back here at Le Mans. We have learned a lot about our TR010 HYBRID today. We still have some things to improve, and I think we know what we need to do. We are pretty much where we expected to be in terms of set-up. Now we need to consider if the track conditions will come to us, and we want to generally find more performance. The whole team has worked hard to get to this point and we feel well prepared. Alessandro Pier Guidi in the #51 Ferrari 499P was the fastest of the Ferrari 499P drivers with the same fastest lap as Kamui Kobayashi.

Genesis in top 10

Paul-Loup Chatin, who is co-driving the #19 Genesis GMR 001 Hypercar with Mathieu Jaminet and Dani Juncadella posted the 19th fastest lap of the day with a 3:27.174 which got his Cadillac tenth of the day.
