GTWCE: Last sprint cup weekend at Valencia

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo Valencia will hold the the deciding round of the Sprint Cup campaign next weekend (19–21 September) with multiple crews in the hunt for each class crown.

The 2025 season has produced an unprecedented level of competition, with seven different winners from eight races and six different manufacturers among the overall title contenders.

The Valencia race will mark the penultimate GT World Challenge powered by AWS event of 2025, with the Endurance Cup finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya following on 10–12 October.

PRO: four world-class crews chasing title glory

Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde (#32 Team WRT BMW) top the standings with 72 points with a win at Zandvoort and four podium finishes.

Marvin Kirchhöfer and Benjamin Goethe (#59 Garage 59 McLaren) follow with 70.5 points after victories at Misano and Magny-Cours. They are the only multiple race winners to date and won recent races which makes them favourites for the title.

Sven Müller and Patric Niederhauser (#96 Rutronik Racing Porsche) sit third in the standings with 63.5 points, while defending champions Maro Engel and Lucas Auer (#48 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG) are a further point back. In both cases, a strong Race 1 result could tip the momentum in their favour.

With 3 wins, two P2 and Four poles ahead of the penultimate Sprint event at Magny-Cours, Thierry Vermeulen and Chris Lulham with #69 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari, the most likely Gold Cup winners. But they didn’t score a single podium in France despite two poles. The gap at the top has never been smaller with the #69 duo still leading with 90 points, 2.5 points ahead of Gilles Magnus and Paul Evrard with #25 Saintéloc Racing Audi.

SILVER: right momentum forh Pauwels/Day

With three wins during the past two events, Jamie Day and Kobe Pauwels driving #21 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin, are with the right momentum in the Silver class and count a six-point lead.

BRONZE: Kessel vs Lionspeed at the top

With two wins each, the Bronze Cup battle between Dustin Blattner and Dennis Marschall (#74 Kessel Racing Ferrari) - Bashar Mardini and Bastian Buus (#89 Lionspeed GP) is close as there are just 6.5 points separating both teams.
