The pair already have a win in a six-hour enduro this year, taking the #60 ARX-06 to victory at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen in June. Blomqvist and Braun will be looking to add to that tally in another six-hour event this weekend.

Cadillac Racing qualified second, third and fourth

Cadillac Racing qualified second, third and fourth in the 12-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) field for Sunday’s TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Jack Aitken recorded a best lap of 1:14.610 seconds in the #31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R to match the Action Express Racing-campaigned hybrid racecar’s best qualifying position of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

Aitken’s lap in the 15-minute session on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course was .041 of a second off the pole-winning lap time of the #60 Acura.

Jack Aitken #31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R: “I’m pretty pleased. I think all the Cadillacs showed pretty well. We had an OK practice, but it wasn't entirely smooth. The nature of having so many cars on track here means getting clean laps, which was quite difficult. I think we’re in a good place. I'm pleased that we've come out today with a strong car and clean qualifying session, and I think a strong car for tomorrow. So, it's positive all-round. Would have been nice to take pole, but it was really tight in front and behind, so can't complain.”

Louis Deletraz drove the #40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R to a season-best third in qualifying, while Ricky Taylor qualified fourth in the #10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R.

The trio were separated by two-tenths of a second, with Deletraz posting a best lap of 1:14.715 and Taylor notching a 1:14.804 lap. Aitken, who will team with Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti in the #31 entry, also qualified second in June at Watkins Glen.

Louis Deletraz #40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R: “Best qualification of the year, so very pleased with that. P3 is a good position to start the race. Good job by all the boys and girls at Wayne Taylor Racing and Cadillac. I think we have a competitive package for the race. Maybe some mixed conditions tomorrow, which I think we should be competitive in and hopefully go get our first victory, so I’m very excited. I think here with all of the traffic and the track layout, there is likely to be a lot of yellows, which means restart racing and a long and intense race.”

Ricky Taylor #10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R: “Strong weekend so far for the No. 10. Filipe and I are very happy with the car. Qualifying was strong, but I think we missed the peak of the tire a little bit. Maybe we would have had a shot for P2. Good day for Cadillac with three cars in the top four. I think we’ve got a very strong race car for tomorrow. Hopefully, we can execute and do all the little things right.” Source: Cadillac Racing
