Mercedes-AMG toughest GT World Challenge Global

2025 was the seventh successive global crown secured by Mercedes-AMG but definitively the toughest since BMW and Porsche scored more victories in Europe, America and Asia. Strong presence in all four continental series proved decisive.

How if works

GT World Challenge Powered by AWS 2025 was an international contest organised by SRO Motorsports Group in which 10 manufacturers competed via their continental customer racing programmes. The ranking is decided by the combined results of SRO’s continental GT3 series in Europe, Asia, America and Australia. 2025 featured 53 sprint and endurance races across 30 events. Competing manufacturers are awarded points for their best-placed car in each class, ranging from 25 at sprint races up to 100 at the marquee CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa

In the global standings, Mercedes-AMG ultimately prevailed by just 23 points over BMW. Porsche was third, followed by Ferrari, Audi, Lamborghini and McLaren. Aston Martin finished eighth, beating Corvette by a mere 24 points thanks to a strong final round for Volante Rosso, with Ford completing this year’s standings.

  • Porsche led in Asia

  • Audi in Australia

Neither did Mercedes-AMG won the greatest number of race victories

Strong presence in all four continental series proved decisive

BMW had no entries on the Australian grid versus four for Mercedes-AMG. With Paul Lucchitti ending P8 overall and Shane Woodman second of AM class in Race 1, Mercedes-AMG was just two points shy of BMW. Customer Performance Award

Mercedes-AMG’s global reach was further emphasised by clinching the inaugural Customer Performance Award, a classification that recognises results across each continent’s various classes. Unlike GT World Challenge global, Mercedes-AMG secured this title ahead of the finale before establishing a 775.5-point margin over BMW at Hampton Downs. Porsche completed the top three.

Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Championship

All teams and adult drivers who competed in official races with a Mercedes-AMG GT3, GT4 or GT2 between 29 October 2024 and 20 October 2025 were eligible to participate in the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Championship. This meant that over 400 drivers and around 100 teams took part in the 2024/25 evaluation period. Entries with extended factory support were not taken into account.

GetSpeed defended their title from the previous year. GetSpeed emerged victorious in the TEAM GT3 classification, securing five class victories in the International GT Open alone and completing a total of 90 race entries in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 during the evaluation period.
