Successful Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R customer program last season with Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports sweeping GTD PRO championships, Orey Fidani’s second consecutive Bob Akin Award, LMGT3 titles in European Le Mans Series and a couple of wins in FIA WEC.

IMSA WeatherTech Sportscars GTD PRO championships

Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports capped an incredible day at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with a pair of podium finishes, along with a GTD PRO championship sweep.

Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg and Nico Varrone ended Motul Petit Le Mans, second in class with their #4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, just ahead of the GTD PRO Drivers Championship pairing of Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims plus Daniel Juncadella in the #3 Corvette.

It marked the second double-podium for the Pratt Miller Corvette last season after Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims won the Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway in their #3 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. and the #4 Corvette of Nicky Catsburg and Tommy Milner placed third overall. Four more podiums secured Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims the class Drivers Championship and the Teams’ title for the #3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports group.

On top of the double podiums, both Chevrolet Corvette secured 5 podiums with a P2 at Daytona, Detroit and Watkins Glen as well as a P3 at Weathertech Raceway for #3 Chevrolet and a P2 at CTMP for sister #4 which contributed to Chevrolet’s Manufacturers Championship title.

Bob Akin Award

Orey Fidani won his second consecutive Bob Akin Award with 13 Motorsports (rebranded 13 Autosport next year) Corvette Z06.R, Matt Bell and Lars Kern under AWA’s operational and technical support.

LMGT3 titles in European Le Mans Series

With two wins during the European Le Mans Series season, Charlie Eastwood, Rui Andrade and Hiroshi Koizumi claimed the class Drivers and Teams championships in the #82 Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

Two wins in FIA WEC

Both TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3 R didn’t reach the same success as the Pratt Miller Motorsports’ ones in IMSA even though the season started on a high note with the victory of the #33 Z06 GT3.R of Ben Keating, Jonny Edgar and Daniel Juncadella in the opening race at Losail.

After a P3 at Le Mans and a P2 at São Paulo, Eastwood, Andrade and Van Rompuy eventually won the penultimate race at Fuji in September. They ended fifth in the class standings, one spot ahead of their teammates.

Should there be a LMGT3 manufacturers championship cumulating both cars points, Chevrolet Corvette would be second to Ferrari 296 LMGT3 with both teams ending respectively 5th and 6th in LMGT3 Teams championship.
