Chadwick first woman ever to win overall in ELMS

New victory but this time overall win for Jamie Chadwick, Juncadella and Mathys Jaubert in #18 Genesis Magma Racing-backed IDEC Sport ORECA. It is the first time ever that a woman wins an ELMS race. For the second time in a row, women scored two wins as Lilou Wadoux crossed checkered flag first in LMGT3 together with Riccardo Agostini and Custodio Toledo.

Strategy and steering control

Strategy and steering control played a big role in winning the four-hour race at Circuit Paul Ricard with tricky conditions. The race started under greacy conditions with the drive line dry but the rest of the track still damped. Several drivers lost control in different sections of the track. Some started with wet tires and were right but one still had to drive faultless to keep the car on track.

Overall win for Chadwick-Juncadella-Jaubert

After winning LMP2 class in Barcelona with a P2 overall, Jamie Chadwick, Daniel Juncadella and Mathys Jaubertto won the four hours of Le Castellet in the #18 Genesis Magma Racing-backed IDEC Sport ORECA.

Chadwick went off on the first lap which dropped the car from fourth to 11th but, after that, kept it clean during her stint in changing conditions. Juncadella and Jaubert also drove faultless. Pit strategy and right timing with several safety cars helped the trio win their class for the second time in a row as well as overall for the first time.

Two Pro-Am teams on overall podium

Nielsen Racing’s #27 trio Tony Wells, Sergio Sette Camara and James Allen.did spend a fair percentage of the race between P2 or P3 thanks to the right tyre choice for the start ending second for just 1,885 seconds. They also clinch Pro-Am victory.
