23 days after Alpine won its first WEC race at the 6 Hours of Fuji, Alpine Endurance Team announce welcoming Portuguese driver António Félix da Costa as race driver from the 2026 season.

Alpine strengthens team ahead of A424 Hypercar's third campaign in the FIA WEC
Known for his natural speed, versatility and strength of character, António Félix da Costa has established himself as one of the most complete talents of his generation and will bring his wealth of experience to the team on a multi-year contract.
A Formula Renault graduate, António Félix da Costa has excelled at every level of single-seater racing, with his performances earning him several Formula 1 test drives. A two-time winner of the Macau Grand Prix, the Cascais native has also shone in DTM and GT racing, demonstrating a rare ability to adapt to extremely competitive grids. He also entered Formula E, where he became one of the leading figures before winning the world title in the 2019-2020 season.

António Félix da Costa is already well-versed in the world of endurance racing, having competed in several FIA World Endurance Championship campaigns. After making his debut in LMGTE Pro, he moved up to the LMP2 category, winning the category title and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2022. Building on this success, the Portuguese driver moved on to the Hypercar category and contributed to his squad's FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams victory.
António Félix da Costa now joins Alpine Endurance Team, where he will again compete among the FIA WEC elite. His experience, ability to unite people, motivation and culture of performance at the highest level will be valuable assets for Les Bleus. After a maiden run with the A424 on Monday at the Le Mans Bugatti Circuit, he will be behind the wheel of the A-arrow Hypercar next month at the Rookies Tests in Bahrain.
