Cadillac Racing aiming for nine straight podiums
Cadillac Racing has had eight straight podium finishes with four wins and is looking to make it nine straight podiums in the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix from Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on August 2.
This yearβs event presents a new challenge for all drivers and teams. Unlike previous races at Road America, which consisted of a 2-hour and 40-minute version, teams now face a six-hour endurance battle at the famous road course.
Whelen Cadillac
The #31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R is entering Road America coming off wins at the Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic and Watkins Glen along with eight consecutive podium finishes, the longest podium streak in the current era of the GTP class.
They also had two wins coming last fall at Indianapolis and Road Atlanta then finishing second in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, third at Sebring and second at Long Beach and Laguna Seca.
Drivers Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber are looking to continue their podium streak as well as looking for their third consecutive win. They will again be joined by Frederik Vesti who will compete with them during all the endurance races.

Jack Aitken: βI think just treat it like a normal day, normal weekend. Obviously, we're in a pretty good groove at the moment, as a team, as a crew. I think we've had some good progress this year with the evo update on the Cadillacs as well, and that's been, it was a lot of hard work in the offseason to get that ready and ship shape and doing what we wanted it to do, and that's helped. So, a lot of things come together. I don't think we are in a position where we're really desperately trying to hold onto a streak. You know, it's a great thing to have, but the reality is we're coming into every weekend, trying to do the best job we can. The streak will end at some point, and I don't know if that'll be this weekend with a hat trick of 4th places, or if we can keep it going even longer, but, we feel good, and just want to keep enjoying it and we're working well, so why would we change anything at the moment?β

Earl Bamber: βCanβt wait to be back at Road America. It has to be my favorite race on the calendar and now adding it to a six-hour race is even more exciting. Itβs sort of uncharted territory and coming off back-to-back wins as a team, weβre trying the keep the hot streak going.β
Frederik Vesti βIβm ready to go to Road America and itβs an exciting race coming up. Obviously, our year so far has been very good and the #31 Whelen Cadillac and my teammate have done a fantastic job. And we are looking to continue down that same path with consistent good work throughout the race. I tested there a couple of weeks ago and it will be my first race ever at Road America, but with it being a six-hour race, it should be a good couple of stints for me and I canβt wait to be back in the car.β
Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing
Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing with the #10 (Ricky Talyor and Filipe Albuquerque) and #40 (Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz) are also looking to score a victory. In last years event, the No. 10 finished eighth, while the No. 40 was ninth.

Ricky Taylor: βThe V Series.R is well suited to road America. The high-speed nature and heavy brake zones of the track is a lot like Le Mans, and for a six-hour race we just have to adapt to the conditions as the track evolves.β
Filipe Albuquerque: βRoad America is one of my favorite tracks on the calendar. The flow of this track is simply amazing, so now having six hours of it is going to be just great and a lot of fun. We had a test there that went well, which is so important. So, Iβm looking forward to being back there to race. Itβs going to be interesting as well with the pick-up game through the six hours β I remember this very well from when we drove there for two-and-a-half hours. It's already crazy at the carousel, so now with six hours it will be even crazier.β

Louis Deletraz: βI'm excited to be at Road America. Itβs one of my favorite tracks on the calendar and Iβm really looking forward to six hours on this track. Having an endurance race at this track will be new for everyone in GTP, so I'm sure it will bring some interesting race dynamics and strategies. We tested a few weeks ago and it was positive. The Cadillac V-Series.R was great and easy to drive on this high grip track.β
Jordan Taylor: βThe Cadillac has been strong at all types of circuits this year, whether the high banks of Daytona, the streets of Detroit, or the sweeping corners of Watkins Glen. I think Road America has a mix of many of those, so I think we will have a very strong package for the weekend.β
