Quinn fastest in FP1, PJ Hyett as Bronze driver

As usual for each round of the European Le Mans Series, Friday enables drivers and teams to test their cars during a 90 minutes free practice (FP1) and a 30 minutes Bronze drivers Collective test which gives indications of the potential class pole winners tomorrow in LMP2 Pro/Am and LMGT3 as those drivers will participate to the LMP2 Pro/Am and LMGT3 qualifying practices. Alex Quinn was fastest of FP1 morning session at Spa-Francorchamps today and PJ Hyett was on top of afternoon timesheets..

Quinn again for both LMP2 class

As he did during Wednesday collective test, Alex Quinn was fastest in FP1 with a 2:01.091 aboard #20 Algarve Pro’s Pro/Am-entered ORECA 07 – Gibson.

Quinn was 0.392 seconds faster than Nick Yelloly in the #43 Inter Europol Competition ORECA (2:01.483).

Daniel Juncadella was third aboard the #18 IDEC Sport ORECA with a 2:01.543. 11 drivers were under the 2:02 mark today with 8 of the LMP2 entries and 3 of the LMP2 Pro/Am.

PJ Hyett fastest Bronze driver in LMP2 PRO AM

The afternoon Bronze Driver Collective Test saw PJ Hyett setting the fastest lap with #99 AO by TF he shares with Dane Cameron and Louis Delétraz (winners of the last round at Imola), 1.209 faster than Giorgio Roda in #77 Proton Competition, his faster opponent for the qualifying practice tomorrow. 3.929 seconds are separating PJ Hyett from the slowest in class (Kriton Lentoudis).

Aston Martin ahead Iron Dames in LMGT3 Bronze Drivers test

Wayne Boyd did top FP1 LMGT3’s timesheets in #23 United Autosports’ McLaren LMGT3 EVO with a 2:17.981.

During the afternoon session reserved to the Bronze drivers, Clément Mateu was fastest of LMGT3s in Aston Martin Vantage #59, 0.533 seconds faster than Celia Martin, second, in Iron Dames Porsche 911 GT3 R #85.

LMP3

In LMP3, Rik Koen was fastest in #8 Team Virage Ligier JS P325 – Toyota, with a 2:11.169. Most LMP3 drivers were more than one second slower than Koen except for Gillian Henrion (#15 RLR M Sport) who was 0.786 second slower.
