12th victory in the Sebring race since 2002 for Corvette Racing #3 at the 12 Hours of Sebring 2022 new GTD PRO class. Cetillar racing’s Ferrari #47 clinch the GTD class.

Porsche driver Alessio Picariello completed his first triple crown attempt in endurance racing by driving the last 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 2021), 24 Hours of Daytona (January 2022) and 12 Hours of Sebring (March 2022).

Porsche and Corvette did battle each taking the lead (71 lpas for Corvette #64 and 112 laps for Porsche #92) but it was Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen who crossed the checkered flag first.

Alpine took its first Hypercar victory at the 1000 Miles of Sebring with Nicolas Lapierre, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Andre Negrao after a two red flag race.

Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn and Neel Jani won the 70th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring with the #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R after full of twists during the last 75’.

Sebastien Bourdais did set fastest lap with his #01 Cadillac Racing Cadillac DPi. Pipo Derani with #31 Whelen Engineering Racing was second with a gap of 0,026 sec. Two Cadillac DPi will start in pole the 12 hours of Sebring tomorrow.

Nicolas Lapierre with the #36 Alpine A480 did set the fastest lap of qualification sessions. With his teammates Matthieu Vaxivière and Andre Negrao, they’ll start from pole the 1.000 miles of Sebring 2022.

12 Hours of Sebring day 1 practices 1 & 2 saw 3 Cadillac DPi topping the day in front of Acura ARX-05 #10 with Pipo Derani setting the best lap (Whelen Engineering Cadillac #31).

Glickenhaus #708 was fastest in FP1 with Romain Dumas and Matthieu Vaxivière did set best lap in FP2 with #36 Alpine A480. Porsche #92 was on top in both practices.

As for day 1 morning session, both WRT cars dominated the LMP2 class but also the Hypercars as Ferdinand Habsburg was the fastest overall with #41 Realteam by WRT Oreca 07 Gibson and stablemate Rene Rast was second fastest with #31 WRT Oreca 07 Gibson.

Jose Maria Lopez set the fastest lap in morning session shortened by heavy rain.

The dry afternoon session was dominated by Robert Kubica with his #9 Prema Orlen Team Oreca 07 Gibson.

Greeting ready for the Prologue on bumpy Sebring International Raceway

Five new teams are entering the LMP2 class for this 10th season: Team Penske, Prema Orlen Team, Vector Sport, Ultimate as well as AF Corse who is moving from LMGTE AM class.

The Hypercars will make their first appearance on American soil with Toyota Gazoo Racing, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and Alpine as only manufacturers represented in the Hypercar class. 

The LMP2 class race was also frenetic as the Oreca #81 DragonSpeed driven by Devlin Defrancesco, Patricio O'Ward, Colton Herta and Eric Lux snatched victory in the last ten minutes...

The race in GTD PRO was very intense with the top 3 ending within 5 sec. Matthieu Jaminet won the class with Pfaff Motorsport Porsche #9 co-driven by Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr.

The race was very tight from start to finish as the top 4 finished within 5.615 sec., after having exchanged the lead in the closing hours and seeing all seven DPi cars on the lead during the first half of the race.

Many changes of leaders during the first half of the race with the 7 DPi’s within 5.5 sec. Currently #5 JDC Miller Motorsport Cadillac holds the lead thanks to less pits than competitors. In GTE PRO, 6 cars are within 6.6 sec.
