The race was very tight from start to finish as the top 4 finished within 5.615 sec., after having exchanged the lead in the closing hours and seeing all seven DPi cars on the lead during the first half of the race.

Many changes of leaders during the first half of the race with the 7 DPi’s within 5.5 sec. Currently #5 JDC Miller Motorsport Cadillac holds the lead thanks to less pits than competitors. In GTE PRO, 6 cars are within 6.6 sec.
IMSA 2022: Friday session @ ROLEX 24 AT Daytona
Four time Indy car Champion Sebastien Bourdais dominated the session and was the only one to cover the lap in less than 1:35 with his #01 V-Performance Academy Cadillac.

Poor weather conditions for the Thursday sessions with a mostly wet track.
The second practice saw some dryer laps enabling the 2 WEC 2021 World Drivers Champions to perform the fastest laps with K. Kobayashi (#48 Ally Cadillac) in P1 and M. Conway (#31 Whelen Engineering Racing) in P2.

Ben Keating took the lead on lap six with his #52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsport Oreca LMP2 07 and handed over to Mikkel Jensen who kept the lead until the end clinching the Rolex 24 pole position in the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class.

After finishing second in the FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 class in 2021, Blomqvist made his debut in Dpi by turning the fastest lap of the two practice sessions Friday at the ROAR before Rolex 24 at Daytona with the # 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05.

No discussion in GTE AM class where François Perrodo, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessio Rovera dominated the championship and the race. In GTE PRO class, Alessandro Pier Guidi took the win after taking Christensen out of track. Three days after, Ferrari was officially crowned 2021 FIA World Endurance GTE Manufacturer’s Champion and James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi have been named World Endurance GTE Driver’s Champions.
